If a child is not collected within a reasonable amount of time after the agreed collection time I will try calling the parents’ contact numbers. If I cannot reach either parent I will then try the emergency contact numbers.

 

If this proves unsuccessful I have a duty to inform the local authority duty social worker of the situation. This person will normally take charge of the situation and decides what happens next.

 

During this time, I will continue to safely look after the child.
